I am confident in the durability of this gear/cog, and as such, I offer a lifetime warranty on it. I have thoroughly tested it and found it to be able to withstand loads way beyond that it will endure normal operation.
This part is designed and manufactured by myself, and I have been a owner of a X250 XF since 2017. I also sell a few other parts for this vehicle.
This gear/cog is known to be a weak point and I have had to replace it twice in my own vehicle. The first time was on the driver’s side vent, which was relatively easy to access. The second time, it was located in a more difficult-to-reach area, so it is recommended to replace all three while they are exposed.
I was not satisfied with the OEM’s v2 version of this part as it only addressed the issue of the outer vane snapping off. Both of my gears/cogs snapped on the outer edge of the large viewing slot, so I modified it to a small porthole to fix this problem.
This part is made up of 55 individual layers of ABS plastic, which are internally woven with a grid mesh. The layers are only 0.2mm high and are fused together at 265 degrees Celsius to form a part that is significantly stronger than its injection-moulded counterpart.
